Madge reports she talked with Kimo Lee (who is attending the vigil protesting the escalation of the war in Iraq) regarding showing the impeachment video. Will talk about later.

Madge reminded members to attend the caucus on Feb 3rd to select delegates to attend the convention (which will be in Amherst). Caucus will be at Crocker Farm school at 10am. Spread the word! Harry Brooks will get current voter list and will serve as the teller at the caucus.

We will be co-hosting the convention on May 19th at the Mullins Center. There is a $75 registration fee with some possibility for waivers. Senior and disabled, $50.

Rich Fay discussed possible venues for the pre-convention reception.

Stan Rosenberg: Sue Thompson (from the State Party) will be in Amherst tomorrow to meet with folks at Mullins. They have not yet begun discussion with the overnors office. It will be a 1 day convention with workshops. They don't expect a lot of people to be staying over. There are other events, including a graduation. A lot of the hotel rooms nearby are taken. They would like some kind of party, but the main party will be after the convention. Put up tent behind Mullins and have a barbeque. All this completely tentative. Stan's recollection: 11th floor perfect. They're going to try to engage students heavily for volunteers. Looking to committee to volunteer and to organize volunteers.

Stan will communicate with the state committee and Harry will check on the availability of the venue.

Feb 3rd Caucus

We are scheduled to meet on the 8th. If we want to conduct committee business, we can do it after the caucus. Do we want to have a meeting after the caucus? Mary Wentworth moves that we have the regular meeting on the 8th as scheduled. Rich Fay seconds. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Sarah McKee volunteers to coordinate the sign-in procedures. Joan and Roland agree to assist.

Stan offered remarks on current events on Beacon Hill.

If you know anyone who can, please lobby representatives in Hamden County on preserving same-sex marriage.

Stan offered greetings from Representative Story who wanted to attend, but is babysitting her grandchild.

People are welcome to arrive early at the next meeting to see an impeachment movie being presented by the Impeachment Outreach Subcommitee.

Wentworth moves that meeting be adjorned. Brooks seconds.

Meeting adjorned at 8:25.
